Batterson Park Restoration

Originally home to Hartford’s reservoir, Batterson Park was New Britain and Hartford’s beach park for decades before closing in 2015. A conservancy was formed to revive the park and received $10 million to plan and redevelop the park. The facilities would be rehabbing and the site will be refreshed and refurbished, with an expected opening in 2023.

In September 2022, the City terminated the Conservancy that formed for the park, and is overseeing the restoration of the park itself. A replacement has not been named or considered.
