Christ Church Cathedral

Hartford’s historic Christ Church Cathedral has restored its nearly 200-year-old cathedral. Interior renovations included the removal and re-purposing of pews to create a flexible programming space that seats 300. Installation also included overhead lighting/sound system as well as bathrooms.

The project officially kicked off in February after the church secured $1.2 million of the $2.1 million necessary for renovations. The church hopes to raise the remainder of the funds by July so renovations can begin in late September/ early October. Construction is presumably on hold due to the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on fundraising efforts.

The space re-opened at the end of October 2021, and the Cathedral is building partnerships to utilize the new space arrangement.
