A large, largely-abandoned mill complex has a redevelopment proposal that would rejuvenate the east bank of the Farmington River in Collinsville.
The complex was built in the Civil War-era and has been mostly vacated for over 50 years. The developer plans to build over 200 apartments and 40,000 sq.ft. of commercial space in two phases, as well as a parking garage. The development will include a riverwalk with outdoor spaces. A lot of historical preservation work is included.
The developer gave informational presentations to town committees in Spring 2021, with formal applications anticipated in the fall.
